Our Clients are allowed 2 black bear on their license. Our wildlife management area unit 536, in northern Alberta, has one of the highest black bear populations that can be found anywhere. This area is remote and accessible mainly by ATV's. Because of the vastness of the area, much of our hunting area has never been hunted, therefore new and unhunted territories are always available to us and are continually supplying black bear trophies of impressive size.

We are continually scouting for prime active sites. Baiting areas are established prior to your arrival and waiting for you to take your trophy.

Our hunting method is to travel by ATV's (All-Terrain Vehicles) to our active bear sites. At this point we may utilize tree stands. Shots from stands can virtually be as close as 10 yards. Shots taken while not on a stand can range as close as 30 yards or farther than 200 yards. If you like remoteness, this is for you. Warm and Dry clothing is a must.

Season Dates for Trophy Black Bear

We host Spring Bear Hunts the second week of May through the first week of June. Licenses are limited to 8 clients. Regulating the number of hunters we take ensures light hunting pressure and allows a higher percentage of larger, older boars. During spring, the month of May produces the best quality rugs and mounts for your wall. Due to the cold winter the quality of their coats are beyond any other time of the year, with thick undercoating and long glossy winter hair.

The fall season runs from August 25 thru August 31 (Archery Only) and September 1 thru November 30 (General). Again we will try to place our fall clients during the prime time for the best black bear hunting. September is the month to hunt these big fall bear. They are feeding heavily, preparing themselves for the long winter, so they are heavier than spring bear. Their coats are thick with prime early winter hair.

Fair chase "spot and stalk" bear hunts are offered.
